Sesema PR won the Ericsson account in 2008 after a competitive pitch.
To achieve brand recognition and Ericsson’s marketing objectives in West Africa, Sesema used media relations and CSR for communication with the target audiences. Sesema regularly organized informal meetings with key media practitioners and scheduled interviews for Ericsson VPs on their visit to the region.
To increase brand awareness we promoted the Volvo Ocean Race in Nigeria sponsored by Ericsson, and projected Ericsson as a caring multinational company through our CSR initiative which involved providing staples to orphanages.
Throughout our tenure, extensive research was conducted into trends in the telecom sector, and we advised the client accordingly in all matters about the industry. We also organised a courtesy visit between Ericsson management and the House Committee on telecommunications.
We sourced for opportunities for the client to speak at relevant conferences, notably the GSMA conference which provided an opportunity for Ericsson to network with stakeholder’s in the telecom sector industry.
