Mercedes brand rep in Nigeria, Weststar, appoints Sesema PR, Sept 2008

Weststar Associates, a name derived from the West of West Africa and the Mercedes logo, the star, was incorporated in Nigeria about 8 months ago. The company has the sole distributorship right of Mercedes Benz vehicles, spare parts, and accessories.

On the appointment Mirko Plath, Managing Director, Weststar Associates, had this to say: “As Weststar is fairly new to the Nigerian market we thought it was imperative to employ the services of a PR company to assist in our strategic positioning. From Sesema’s track record, we are convinced that we can achieve this goal together. We look forward to a mutually beneficial working relationship with the company.”

Sesema public relations’ responsibility is to manage all publicity for Weststar, which includes strategic planning, media relations and event management amongst others. Through projects Sesema had already demonstrated its professionalism in carrying out these functions, hence the decision of the management of Weststar Associates to solidify the relationship.

Weststar Associates is responsible for the distribution of the entire range of Mercedes Benz vehicles from the super luxury Maybach, to the vans and trucks such as vito, viano, atego, axor and, the heavy duty flagship truck named actros.

Sesema PR, a Victoria Island based consultancy, has been operating successfully for about six years and currently has several high profile clients such as Ericsson, Nutricima, The Palms, Lagos Free Trade Zone and SAS amongst others on its list of clients. The company’s services include reputation management, strategic planning, media relations and event management.
