Sesema MD chairs School of Communication seminar, June 24, 2009 -

Managing Director of Sesema PR, Ms. Alima Atta recently spoke at the 2009 Annual PR Seminar of the school of communication, Lagos State University (LASU) on the emerging trends in PR today, and was awarded with a plaque for her outstanding contribution and expertise in the field of PR.

At the event which she also chaired, speakers from other PR agencies spoke on diverse topics ranging from effective event management, to the role technology plays in Public Relations today.

“Education is something I believe strongly in so being able to share my experiences in public relations and marketing communications with students was a joy to me. This profession has evolved to the point where without it businesses can barely survive.  PR has proven itself to be a reliable, cost effective, and unique channel for passing messages to target public.”

She added, “Unfortunately most practicing PR practitioners in Nigeria don’t have the everyday tools to practice professional PR and even tools such as websites are still not commonplace. It’s a wonder they are able to publicise their services internationally,”

She encouraged the students to keep up to date with new technology and spoke extensively about the proper use of the networking sites and other forms of digital PR.

Sesema PR has been sponsoring best in class students of the school of communications, LASU for the last two years, and providing them with the opportunity to work at the agency during their industrial training.
