Working for 9 hours every week day in Sesema PR is no joke. Our usually charged and fast paced office environment keeps you on your toes all day. Our clients need to take out time to visit our office someday to see the efforts we put into their communications plans daily.  To put it succinctly, working in SESEMA is mentally tasking…and yes, I love every bit of it!

But one issue I take very seriously is work place stress. With all the running around done in a bustling mega city like Lagos, it is only natural for one to be stressed out once in a while during or after working hours. I have adopted the strategies that suit me and work out for me effectively to curb the stress I sometimes go through during work hours.

I am usually excited on Fridays especially when the week was quite busy. This is because I always look forward to Sundays.  On Sundays, I take time to relax and recharge. Part of my routine is taking a long walk, spending time with nature, savouring a warm cup of coffee, listening to music and watching comedies.

All these make me feel good and refreshed and look forward to the coming week. For those of you who can afford it, a visit to the spa, a weekend in a luxury hotel or a trip to Calabar, Capetown or Paris will suffice.

I want to use this medium to encourage you to always take time out of your busy schedules to always relax. Don’t get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that you forget to take care of your own needs. Nurturing yourself is a necessity, not a luxury.  If you regularly make time for fun and relaxation, you’ll be in a better place to handle life’s stress when they inevitably come. Have a stress less month ahead. Selah.
