Hello readers, it’s good to be here again. - It’s been four years since I joined Sesema PR, but I remember it like it was just yesterday. I remember my first day at work – everything happened so fast, and I could barely keep up with the pace of it all. It was my abrupt welcome to the wonderful and intense world of Market Research in the PR industry.

So far, the journey has been progressive, enlightening, rewarding and innovative. I have learnt a lot even as I watched my work effectively impact our various clients.  In 2012, I was promoted to the position of Senior Research Executive, with two departmental assistants to work with.

In the past year, the department has handled projects for renowned local and international brands such as Shell, Nigerian Bottling Company, Chevron, Visa Inc etc. This has undoubtedly exposed me to the specifics of various industries and broadened my horizon and understanding of just how industry specific Market Research can be. I was also nominated by management to provide current positive trends in Nigeria to a magazine called The Quarterly Magazine which is compiled, published and distributed by Edelman, the world’s largest independent PR Agency. In the course of these projects, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best hands in Edelman, our affiliate. They were very thorough and detail oriented, with emphasis on very well researched stories and trends which showcased Nigeria’s emerging economy. In addition to my achievements in 2012, I won the most coveted award – Sesema’s Staff of the year 2012. I am humbled by these achievements and I hope to do more in 2013.

In my new role, I am tasked with bringing in new clients and proposing new ideas that will propel the department and the company in general, to greater heights. It’s challenging but with persistence, I know even more success is within reach.

It’s a new year and work is exciting; I’m currently working on different research projects for a number of clients. Each project is innovative, demanding and ultimately rewarding in its own right, but with the usual support from my tremendous departmental team – and no doubt the rest of the amazing people at Sesema - It promises to be worthwhile.

Until I feature on this page again, stay positive!

Peace
