Edelman has appointed Stephanie Smirnov as managing director of consumer marketing in the firm’s New York office. Smirnov, who most recently served as US CEO at DeVries Global, will lead a team of more than 140 employees in the New York consumer division. She succeeds Adrienne Hayes, who left Edelman for Google’s Motorola Mobility, and will report to Russell Dubner, president, Edelman, New York.

During her tenure at DeVries Global, Smirnov oversaw the agency’s strategic and creative services function, which also included emerging media, research and analytics and branded entertainment. She served as an active senior counselor to many clients, most notably strategic lead for the P&G business, comprised of 15 brands including Pantene, Olay and Tide.

Prior to her 12 years at DeVries Global, Smirnov worked in leadership positions at L’Oreal USA, Inc. and the Donna Karan Beauty Company.

In addition, the firm has added  Catherine Franklin, who returned to Edelman from her post as head of consumer in New York for GolinHarris, and who serves as executive vice president and strategic director of consumer marketing; Drew Vogelman, who most recently served as head of integrated production operations for BBDO, and joined Edelman Digital as executive vice president and director of creative production; and -  Bryan Chadwick, a former creative director for Y&R, DDB and JWT, as well as a White House speech writer, who is a creative director for the New York office.
